The 8th instalment of the The Good Soldier Schweik focuses on the clash between Schweik and lieutenant Dub, when the gallant Czech soldier drinks a bottle of cognac in one gulp, thus preventing the trouble into which not only he, but lieutenant Lukas, too, would have got otherwise.
